At the Global Revenue Forum in Amsterdam on 4 June 2026, Valpas co-founder and CEO Martim Gois gave a keynote, "The Guest Need of the Decade: The New Hotel Attribute Driving Revenue in 2026." His case was that bed-bug safety has become a booking decision hotels never see being made. He walked through what guests already do quietly: scanning reviews before booking, checking the bed on arrival, washing clothes hot once they get home, while almost none ask the hotel about its protocols. He shared survey findings that around half of travellers would skip a hotel after a single recent bed-bug review, and that seven in ten would pay more for a stay guaranteed bed-bug-safe. He closed on where guests want that guarantee to appear: as a badge on the hotel's own site, a filter on booking platforms, and a code they can scan.
